Dr. Joshua K. Diehl

Dr. Diehl is a 2006 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Diehl completed several externships in Philadelphia, including experiences with the Ophthalmology Department at Albert Einstein Medical Center and the pediatric unit of the Eye Institute in Philadelphia. He joined Dr. Whitling in July 2006 and became sole owner of Clarion Eye Care, Inc. in July 2016. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association & Gold Key International Optometric Honor Society. He enjoys working with people of all ages but finds it particularly rewarding when working with children.

Dr. Kelly L. Owens

Dr. Owens is from nearby Punxsutawney and is familiar with the Clarion area. She received her undergraduate degree from Penn State University and graduated in May 2016 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. Dr. Owens joined Clarion Eye Care, Inc in July 2016. Her special interests in Optometry include pediatric and geriatric vision, contact lenses, and vision therapy. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association.

Dr. Claire E. Saylor

A proud Clarion County native and graduate of Clarion Area High School, Dr. Claire Saylor is excited to be serving her hometown community. She earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford in May 2020, and went on to complete her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Missouri–St. Louis College of Optometry in May 2024. Dr. Saylor joined Clarion Eye Care in July 2024 and is currently welcoming new patients. She is an active member of both the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association.

Gail Moore - Office Manager

Gail joined our office in late 2009 and has become a leader in our office. She was recently promoted to Office Manager in January 2021. She is a native of Clarion county and graduated from Clarion Area High School. Patients are immediately greeted with her warm smile and pleasant personality and they, like we, continue to be impressed with her efficiency, patience and compassion.Gail works closely with our billing provider and handles many of the insurance and billing questions and responsibilities.
We are so grateful for the professionalism she brings to the office and feel very fortunate to have Gail working with us. |
Sherry Foulks - Optical Lab Manager

Sherry has been a member of our team since 1986. She is the office optician and has been the operator and manager of our "in-house" optical laboratory. Her quick wit and friendly disposition make her a delight to be around. Sherry has also been the primary dispenser and repairer of eyeglasses in our office since 1995.
She has been known to perform miracles on broken glasses that no one else thought were fixable! |
Danielle Heasley

Danielle joined our practice in October 2016 and has been a wonderful addition! She is a native of Clarion County and graduated from North Clarion High School. Danielle has an upbeat personality and is willing to help in any way she can. She enjoys working with patients and her easy-going personality will put you at ease.
She manages our contact lens inventory and has become a jack of all trades! |
Brooke Smith - Vision Therapist
Brooke joined our practice May 2024. She graduated from Redbank Valley in 2021 which makes her native to the area. Her
previous experience in eye care has made her a great addition to our team. Brooke's energy will keep you on your toes! Brooke enjoys spending time outside with her family, friends, and pups.

Katie Cotherman

Katie joined our practice in April 2025. She is a native of Clarion County is a Keystone Jr./Sr. High School alumna. She began her career in the optical industry with Dr. Gwen Coltz in 2019. Katie takes great pride in her work and is dedicated to ensuring each patient has a positive and welcoming experience. She values building meaningful relationships with patients and enjoys contributing to their care with professionalism and warmth.
